On Saturday, August 6 surfers Stephanie Gilmore, Ian ‘Kanga’ Cairns and Randy Lewis will be inducted to the Surfer’s Hall of Fame. They will have their hand and footprints imprinted in cement in historic downtown Huntington Beach, Calif. The 2010 Induction ceremony takes place during the US Open of Surfing in front of the bronze statue of Duke Kahanamoku, just yards from the famous Huntington Beach pier.
“The Surfers’ Hall of Fame induction Ceremony is only a few swells away now and we are getting really excited to honor and thank Steph, Ian and Randy for their contributions to the Surfing World,” Surfers’ Hall of Fame founder Aaron Pai told the event sponsors.
Glimore, Cairns and Lewis join a long list of surfers who have made an indelible mark on the sport, industry and culture of surfing. Hall of Famers include icons like Robert August, Greg Noll, Lisa Anderson and Kelly Slater.
