LONG BEACH, Long Island/New York

Thursday, September 8, 2011 – Red-hot action at the Quiksilver Pro New York, Event No. 6 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title season, will recommence this morning with the remaining Round 3 heats hitting the water at 8am in offshore four-foot (1 metre) peaks in Long Island.

“We’re seeing some good conditions this morning with increased swell and offshore wind,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll begin at 8am with the remaining Round 3 heats and look to move through Rounds 4 and 5 and have even put the Quarterfinals on standby for tonight. We want to capitalize on the best of this swell so we’re expecting a big day of competition.”

Up first this morning will be Josh Kerr, 27, (AUS) against Raoni Monteiro (BRA), 29, in Heat 5 of Round 3.
